Course Content

Introduction to 3D modeling, Reconstruction and computer modeling of a 3D model from given 2D views.

Introduction to specifications like fits and tolerances, surface finish, welding symbols, selection of standard components like bolts, nuts, screws, keys etc. 3D computer modeling and assembly: Introduction to assembly constraints. Joints – Knuckle joint, Spigot, Cotter joints; Couplings- simple, muff, flange coupling, Oldham’s coupling, universal Coupling; I.C. Engine parts – piston, connecting rod, cross head & crankshaft, Gears – Involute construction, spur gear nomenclature, computer modeling of spur gear. Detailed manufacturing drawing
