Server Engineer

Centre of Excellence for Road Safety (CoERS)  established at RBG labs, IIT Madras acts as think tank and funded by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, GOI. In addition, the centre advises and guides various stakeholders like State Governments and industry bodies in different aspects of road safety. The centre  with multidisciplinary prospects works with principle of Integrated Systems approach on 4E’s (Engineering, Enforcement, Emergency & Education) to enhance Road Safety across the nation and globe in pledge to save lives.

We are looking for a passionate ​​Server Engineer who can study, analyse, asses the road parameters on field and remote. 

Responsibilities

• Ensure ongoing server health, updates, and maintenance Incident/Issue Isolation, Troubleshooting, and Resolution with use of diagnostics tools
• Lead Server/Application Project work Monitor and Report on System Metrics Maintain server/support documentation 
• Lifecycle Management with OS research and planned maintenance/upgrades
• Requirements include knowledge of: VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter Configuration, Operation, and Troubleshooting Windows and Linux Operating Systems, including Windows Server and Ubuntu Nutanix system configuration, operations, and troubleshooting Citrix DaaS with on-prem and cloud delivery groups Veeam Backup with AWS integration QNAP NAS AWS (EC2, IAM, S3, Storage/File Gateways, Application Load Balancer, Network Load Balancer, Redshift, image management) Implementation, Operations, and Maintenance Windows AD administration and Group Policy management AzureAD and Domain Services configuration and management 
  
• Experience with Network Protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NTP, SMTP 
  
• Experience with VMware networking, including vSwitch and vSphere Distributed Switch configuration and troubleshooting 
  
• Taking ownership on complete handling Server and provide 24/7 support
  

Requirements

• The Server Engineer position will provide operations support for Managed Services customers.  
  
• The engineer will support various server operating systems and applications in enterprise environments.  
  
• The engineer will be an expert with server virtualization and system backup and recovery
• Should be adept in configuring web servers, Apache2,nginx and gunicorn
