Dr. Tuhin Subhra Santra is an Associate Professor in Department of Engineering Design at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India, from November 2022. He was Assistant Professor in the same Department from July 2016 to October 2022. Currently he is a tenure track “Honorary Visiting Professor” at National Tsing Hua University” Taiwan from 2018~2026 and he was a “Visiting Professor” at University of Cambridge, UK in 2019. Dr. Santra received his PhD degree in Bio-Nano Electro Mechanical Systems (Bio-NEMS) from the Institute of Nanoengineering and Microsystems (NEMS), National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Taiwan 2013. Dr. Santra was a Post-Doctoral researcher at the California Nano System Institute (CNSI), University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), USA, 2015~2016. His main research areas are Bio-NEMS, Single Cell Technology, Bio-Micro/Nano Fabrication, Single-molecule, Lab on a Chip, Lung on a Chip, Nanomedicine etc. Currently Dr. Santra serving as an Guest Editor for Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology. He served as a Guest Editor for Cells in 2022, 2020, 2019, International Journal of Molecular Science (IJMS) in 2019, 2018, 2017, 2015, and Sensors Journal in 2016, Journal of Molecules in 2016, Sensors and Transducers Journal in 2015, Micromachines 2023, 2020, 2017, 2013, among others. Currently He is Associate Editors for the Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, Frontiers in Materials and Frontiers in Molecular Biosciences. Dr. Santra has received many honours and awards such as “J.C. Bose Innovation Test of time Award” for highest number of patent application from IIT Madras in 20218~2023, “Best Teacher Award” by IIT Madras in 2022, “Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance Fellow” in 2018, Honorary Research Fellow from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan in 2023, 2018, Bhart Bikas Award in 2017, NTHU outstanding student award in 2011 and 2013, IEEE-NEMS best conference paper award in 2024, 2014, outstanding student awards at NTHU and Jadavpur University in 2005, 2006, 2010 and 2012, silver medal from Vidyasagar University in 2004 etc. Dr. Santra has published more than 70 international journal papers, 40 US/Taiwan/India patents, 10 books, 22 book chapters, 28 proceedings and 40 International Conference papers in his research field.
